This position, in collaboration with physicians and multidisciplinary team members, provides primary care to patients, including assessment, treatment, care planning, and medical care evaluation. TNCC buor/u/b ENPC buand/u/b Stable within eighteen (18) months of hire required./lilibPRN employees/b: BLS required, NRP, PALS, ACLS, TNCC, Stable and ENPC preferred./liliAdditional certifications may be required as applicable to assigned area(s)./li/ul/liliUnderstanding of the confidentiality laws that govern the provider-patient relationship, including but not limited to, HIPAA guidelines./liliKnowledge of equipment, supplies, and instruments used in an acute care area; simple routine clinical laboratory methods, universal blood and body fluid precautions preferred./liliKnowledge of OSHA rules and regulations, established protocol for storing poisons, narcotics, acids, caustics, and flammable items; restriction imposed by various managed care carriers, various forms inherent to profession preferred./liliExcellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, a self-starter, possess critical thinking skills and be able to set priorities and function as part of a team as well as independently.  Commitment to working in a team environment and maintaining confidentiality./liliExcellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with various audiences/liliExcellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.  Possess considerable knowledge of the behavior and needs of patients./liliPossess and maintain computer skills to include working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn other software as needed./li/ulp/ppbJob Specific Duties:/b/pulliThis position is required to cross-train in other nursing areas, to include, but may not be limited to; Acute Care, Emergency Department, Operating Room, Outpatient, etc./liliDevelops, implements, and coordinates individualized, goal-directed nursing care to patients through the use of the nursing process as appropriate for RN’s and as applicable to the assigned area(s)./liliCompetently provides direct patient care, utilizing established procedures, policies, and RN standards of care. Performs unit-specific competencies to include the performance of nursing treatments and provision of clinical services, within the scope of practice./liliMaintains nursing standards of care and responds to changing workloads and patient conditions by:  remaining calm, making objective assessments, prioritizing, and asking for assistance as appropriate. /liliCompletes patient assessments and reassessments according to the unit specifications and standards of practice./liliTranscribes and implements provider verbal and written orders and treatments. Accurately and efficiently notes chart reviews and observation. Timely documents all patient care in the electronic health record according to unit and organizational requirements./liliComplies with all infection control and safety policies and procedures and disposes of bio hazardous materials per department protocol.  Performs environmental cleaning and equipment quality control and maintenance per department procedures./liliIdentifies, verbally evaluates, and reports identified reaction changes in the stated physical and mental conditions of patients per department protocol./liliAdheres to the code of professional nursing.
