The purpose of the position is to instruct the sport of gymnastics and other activities as needed./p/ph2Position Duties/h2ppIndependent judgment is required to identify, select and apply the most appropriate of available guidelines and procedures as well as interpret precedents. This position is responsible for teaching instructional classes and the girl’s competitive gymnastics team and participating in meetings and any other gymnastics events. The contracted Gymnastics Instructor will assist and aid in the roles of the Head Coach and the Gymnastics Coordinator./pul style="margin-bottom: 3.0pt;"liInstruct and coach gymnastics classes and the competitive team.liBeing able to arrive before scheduled teaching time to set up classes.nbsp;liMoving and setting up equipment.liSpotting (lifting participants).liResponsible for all handouts for classes and teams. nbsp;liResponsible for class discipline protocol.liDocumenting and reporting injury for participants.liMust follow class lesson plans and team schedules.nbsp;liResponsible for evaluating participants in the class program and informing the Gymnastics Coordinator of advanced participants.liMaintaining the knowledge of the current competitive routines.nbsp;liAttend any required training.liAttend regularly scheduled staff meetings.liThe ability to travel to and from competitive meets.liPerforms other related duties as assigned.liThe omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that logically relate to the position./ul/ph2Minimum Qualifications/h2pul style="margin-bottom: 3.0pt;"liKnowledge of principles, techniques, and methods of maintaining and using gymnastics apparatus.liAbility to maintain effective working relationships with other employees.liMust be able to use tact and courtesy in dealing with the public.liMust be able to analyze and evaluate procedures and work processes and exercise appropriate judgment in establishing priorities and work methods.liMust be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships and deal effectively and courteously with others, to work independently and in team settings.liMust be able to type or use a personal computer with word processing and related software and to enter and retrieve information with reasonable speed and accuracy.nbsp;liModerate physical activity.
