Job Description
This outpatient OB/GYN position provides comprehensive womens health services in a clinic setting. The physician will deliver preventative, diagnostic, and therapeutic care while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality, cost-effective patient outcomes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Patient Care and Clinical Services
- Provide care across all phases of womens reproductive health, including prenatal and postnatal care
- Perform well-women exams, including pelvic and breast exams, Pap smears, and biopsies
- Diagnose and treat reproductive health conditions and monitor ongoing patient care
- Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests and screenings
Patient Education and Counseling
- Counsel patients on contraception, preventative care, safe sex practices, and pregnancy expectations
- Educate patients on reproductive health and preventative medicine
Collaboration and Documentation
- Collaborate with midwives, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop comprehensive care plans
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system
- Review lab reports, manage medication refills, and support cost-effective resource utilization
- Adhere to all organizational policies, procedures, and healthcare regulations, including HIPAA
Academic and Educational Activities
- Support the education and professional development of medical students, residents, fellows, and other healthcare learners
- Provide mentoring and teaching directly or in collaboration with senior departmental faculty
Qualifications:
Education and Training
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school
- Completion of an ACGME-accredited OB/GYN residency program
Licensure and Certification
- Current, unrestricted medical license in the State of Texas
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology
