Classification Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma and one year of appropriate experience and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Appropriate college course work or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.
Job Description:
Assists faculty, residents and student dentists during their practice chair side in the care of the patients. Anticipates the needs of the doctors and patients to expedite the efficient running of the clinics; including but not limited to periodontal charting and all aspects of both non-surgical and surgical “four handed” dental care.
Maintains operatories in a clean and ready state including set up and break down of dental operatories. Take and record medical and dental histories and vital signs of patients. Set up instrument trays. Prepare patient, assists dentist during dental procedures, maintains and sterilizes dental instruments, prepare surgical packs, maintain operatory equipment, takes impressions, prepares bite guards, pour and trim dental models. Cleans and keeps lab in order. Prints and reviews daily patient appointments in the computer for the next clinic day.
Process digitally managed and/or develops radiographs.
Keep the graduate Periodontic clinic clean and organized. Stock supply cabinets and stock rooms daily. Keeps a spreadsheet on dental supplies ordered, and ordering supplies in support of dental implantology, assists with maintaining large assortment of dental instrumentation.
Serves as back-up to Sr. Clerk with receptionist duties; receiving patients, answering telephone, scheduling patient appointments, pulling charts for the week. Performs other duties as may be assigned.
Assists the Grad Director in preparing pertinent documentation that deals with the Graduate Program necessary for accreditation.

$18.00 - $19.00

Required Qualifications:
High school diploma and one year of appropriate experience and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Appropriate college course work or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.
Preferred:
- 5 years experience of assisting in the surgical placement of dental implants. Included in the is would be an in depth knowledge of multiple implant systems, their maintenance and ordering needs as required.
- 5 years in assisting in intravenous sedation including demonstrated experience in phlebotomy.
- Thorough knowledge of dental terminology, equipment, instruments, materials and procedures.
- Certified Dental Assistant and Certified Dental Radiographer.
