Job Summary:
\n Under immediate to general supervision and direction of a mentor/preceptor, this entry-level position works to achieve the initial competencies required to deliver specialized cardiovascular and/or radiologic technology services to adult and/or pediatric patient populations. The role aids medical staff in the diagnosis, care, treatment, and surveillance of simple to complex conditions, defects, and/or diseases.
Required Qualifications:
\n • Skill in applying principles of cardiovascular and/or radiologic technology, medical imaging, medical terminology, positioning of patients, and medical ethics.
\n • Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions.
\n • Sensitivity to patients’ physical and psychological needs.
\n • Ability to maintain accurate records and work accurately with names, numbers, and codes.
\n • Discretion in handling confidential information and sound judgment.
\n • Ability to multi-task and remain calm in stressful situations.
\n • Core knowledge of normal and abnormal anatomy and physiology.
\n • Ability to apply primary specialty theory, practices, and techniques with general supervision.
Required Education:
\n • Graduate of a CAAHEP-accredited educational program with emphasis in a primary cardiovascular specialty.
\n OR
\n • Graduate of a JRCERT-accredited educational program with emphasis in a radiologic technology specialty.
Required Certifications & Licensure:
\n • Must meet applicant eligibility requirements for MRI Certification (to be achieved within 12 months of hire).
\n • AHA BLS certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
\n • Associate’s degree or higher.
