Collects payments and resolves questions or problems about patient accounts. Serves as the primary source of information for patients with billing inquiries. Contacts insurance companies regarding claims and updates account information. Provides basic administrative tasks related to patient accounts. Ensures accurate and efficient handling of patient financial services. Supports the overall revenue cycle and managed care operations. Arranges debt repayment or establishes repayment schedules at the patient's request. Returns all phone calls within 24 hours. Acts as a liaison between the hospital and PASI concerning patient billing issues. Directs accounts requiring additional review to the appropriate Patient Account Representative. Meets with patients and families in person who present to the hospital. Contacts patients in a timely manner for any requested follow-ups. Submits payment transfer or adjustment requests on patient accounts. Provides extraordinary customer service to all patients, visitors, and callers. Handles self-pay correspondence received by mail.
