American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring a CA RN license and advanced fetal monitoring certification.
Details\n- \n
- >Work in the Labor and Delivery/Postpartum unit of an acute care Level 3 trauma hospital \n
- Unit includes 14 L&D beds, 6 triage beds, 2 OR suites, and 28 postpartum beds \n
- Approximately 250 births per month \n
- Patient population includes any gestational age, antepartum, high-risk deliveries, substance abuse, pre-eclampsia, and insulin dependent diabetics \n
- Patient ratios: 2:1 for laboring patients per AWHONN guidelines, 1:4 for couplet care \n
- Uses Cerner EMR and Fetal Link fetal heart monitoring system \n
- Uses Philips telemetry \n
- OB tech support available on day and night shifts \n
- Charge nurse typically does not carry a patient assignment \n
- 12-hour day shifts, 7a-7p, with every other weekend requirement \n
- No call requirement, though standby may be needed \n
- Required to float to Postpartum unit; Postpartum staff do not float to L&D \n
- Circulating for C-sections required; scrubbing experience preferred \n
- Floor-specific orientation consists of 3 shifts \n
- >Holiday coverage worked in rotation with permanent staff \n

- Active CA RN license required \n
- Minimum 2 years of experience required \n
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, and Advanced Fetal Monitoring (AWHONN) \n
- COVID vaccine required \n
- C-section circulating experience required \n
- Cerner EMR experience preferred \n
- Driver's license copy required for consideration \n
- Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months worked, and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years worked, including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire \n

- Provide direct nursing care in a busy Labor and Delivery/Postpartum unit \n
- Respiratory Therapy and Pharmacy support available 24/7 \n
- OB/Neonatologist not in-house but available if needed \n
- No IV team or ventilator support on this unit \n
- Navy scrubs required for Postpartum nurses; seal blue scrubs (provided) required for OB techs and L&D nurses \n
- First-time travelers may be considered for this position \n
