Mazak Corporation is looking for a Mechanical Assembler to join the Assembly team. The Mechanical Assembler will install mechanical and electrical components on machine tools manufactured by Mazak.
Scope and Responsibilities:
Essential duties include, but are not limited to the following:
* Install a variety of parts and sub-assemblies onto machine tools as part of the manufacturing process
* Read and interpret assembly drawings for new machines and components
* Assure all parts required for complete assembly of machine are delivered to the assembly location
* Align, adjust and modify sheet metal components to assure proper fit onto the machine
* Install electrical components and parts needed for specific machines.
* Visually inspect machines for appearance issues, notify lead/supervisor of bad welds, grinder marks, paint scrapes, etc.
* Operate crane to lift and install heavy items: examples: hydraulic pump assembly, transformers, etc.
* Use of walk behind forklift to transport parts
* Use a variety of hand tools, including drills, grinders, and air-powered tools, when installing parts and sub-assemblies
* Fill out necessary check sheet
* Maintain a clean and orderly work environment
* Assist in the training of new employees when needed
Education/Certification:
* High school diploma required
Skills:
* Previous work experience involving machine tools
* Basic mechanical skills
* Use of hand tools
* Use of power tools
* Crane training
* Walk behind fork truck training
* Job required lifting a maximum of 50 lbs. three to four feet off the ground
* Full range of physical activities like kneeling, climbing, reaching, etc.
* Focus on safety and aware of surroundings
* Focus on completing tasks completely with no errors.
