pEncourages participants to continue in and graduate from secondary school, enroll in post-secondary education or reentry programs in education. The Advisor/Coordinator will provide program services specific to the needs of our adult and veteran program participants and to our high school and middle school participants as well./p
h4Required Qualifications/h4
ul
liBachelor's in education, counseling, psychology, social work, human relations or related field of study.br /(degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)/li
liTwo years of experience in student personnel services (i.e., in an academic, personal and/or career counseling setting)./li
liTwo years of related experience with disadvantaged youth./li

pstrongCertifications, Registrations, and/or Licenses:/strong/p
ul
liValid Oklahoma driver’s license./li

pstrongSkills, Proficiencies, and/or Knowledge:/strong/p
ul
liActive listening skills, essential in the counseling role./li
liFamiliarity with multiple career assessment instruments, understanding and interpretation of test scores./li
liAccuracy in collecting documentation of data required for annual performance reports./li
liExcellent organizational, time management, and human relations skills./li
liAbility to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively with high degree of accuracy and attention to detail./li
liStrong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate diplomatically, clearly, and effectively, both verbally and in writing to exchange information, give/receive instructions and respond to inquiries appropriately with all students, faculty, staff and community partners./li
liHigh degree of initiative to work independently and also collaborate in a team environment./li
liDemonstrated knowledge of office technologies including but not limited to: office computers, fax machines, scanners, internet, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook)./li
liHigh degree of integrity; ability to work in a sensitive, highly confidential and professional environment./li
liAbility to work effectively with participants of various ages, races, backgrounds and ethnicities./li
liAbility to facilitate student workshops in person or through virtual platform./li
liPassion for assisting customers and representing the OSU-OKC and OSU brand with positivity and professionalism./li
liDemonstrated history of ethical and professional behavior./li

h4Preferred Qualifications/h4

liMaster's in education, counseling or related field./li
liExperience working in a federal TRIO program./li
liExperience in the administration, scoring, and interpretation of career assessments./li
liExperience as a bilingual English/Spanish speaker./li
liUnderstanding of veterans’ issues and educational benefits./li
liUnderstanding of students who may be 1st generation, low-income and/or disabled./li
liSkill in curriculum development and instructional planning that can be used to coordinate and facilitate various workshops./li
liKnowledge in using digital platforms to perform job functions./li

liMust be able to work flexible hours to include some nights and weekends./li
liWork will be performed in an office environment with a significant amount of public contact, in person, by telephone, via email, and various communication platforms./li
liMay be occasional changes in work schedule due to participation in public. relations, outreach, student advisement, and other campus activities./li
liIn-state travel to include exposure to outside conditions as relates to program. cultural events and activities. Occasional overnight stay may be required./li
liOccasional out-of-state travel for trainings./li

liDuties require extended periods of sitting, talking and listening./li
liDuties require extensive use of computers, telephone and other office equipment./li
liRequires possible lifting of up to 25 lbs. (If an object weights more than 45 lbs., OSU-Oklahoma City requires this to be a two-person lift)./li
liMust be able to drive participants on visits to post-secondary institutions, career site visits and cultural events./li
