Instructors will develop in each student the skills of critical thinking and to help students learn course content in psychology so they can apply it personally, professionally, and in the community. /p h4Required Qualifications/h4 ul liMaster’s Degree in discipline or related area or Master’s Degree with 18 hours in discipline required (transfer classes)./li li(degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)/li liMust have educational qualifications to teach in subject area or have documented specialty education/experience to meet tested experience requirements, as per the Higher Learning Commission’s publication on Determining Qualified Faculty, and provide leadership in an academic discipline and/or degree program./li liPrograms with discipline-specific external accreditation may have more stringent training and experience requirements./li /ul pstrongCertifications, Registrations, and/or Licenses:/strong/p ul liDependent on course/li /ul pstrongSkills, Proficiencies, and/or Knowledge:/strong/p ul liTeaching Competence – Must be able to create lesson plans, content, presentations, ancillary materials, and assignments to effectively transform information to knowledge for students; have the ability to assess student learning and progress./li liCommunication skills – Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing with clear, grammatically correct English; requires interaction with supervisors, colleagues, students, alumni, advisory committee members, and the public, using tact, discretion, and independent judgment./li liComputer skills – Must be demonstrably proficient in Microsoft Office (MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel), as well as e-mail and internet, and learning management systems./li liPassion for assisting customers and representing the OSU-OKC and OSU brand with positivity and professionalism./li liDemonstrated history of ethical and professional behavior./li /ul h4Preferred Qualifications/h4 ul liPh.D./Ed.D./li /ul pstrongEssential Job Functions:/strong/p ol liMaintain student and course records with updates on the learning management system./li liMaintain and file current course outlines, objectives and grading procedures for all courses./li liExhibit innovative and adaptive instructional methods./li liCompletes all mandatory training./li liFulfill all requirements as noted in the Adjunct Handbook./li liPerform other related duties as assigned./li /ol pemThe duties listed in this job description are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed.
