Eaton's ES AMER ARS PDCAD division is currently seeking a Manufacturing Tech-I MCC Assembly 1st to join our Fayetteville, NC site. The hourly rate for this position is $18.40 per hour.

The core hours are Monday to Thursday - 5:00am - 3:30pm

What you'll do:

The Manufacturing Technician - I MCC Assembly, will assemble, fit and mount sub-assemblies, components, and standard and near standard fixed assemblies in Motor Control Centers, Enclosed Control and related assemblies and sub-assemblies. Perform assembly required for test preparation and final inspection. Assemble and wire units, relay panels, panel boards, space heaters, and control panels. Bend and install power cable and leads, fabricate pre-cable unit, panel and MTB harnesses, and power leads. Use established power checking procedures and equipment to verify electrical/mechanical integrity of units assembled. Stage parts for customer orders.

  • Interpret oral and written instructions, engineering prints, inspection reports, manufacturing information sheets, and wiring diagrams to perform assigned tasks.
  • Identify required parts and materials, create requisitions, and obtain supplies from stock areas as needed.
  • Review shop orders and drawings to determine assembly procedures, component types, configurations, mounting locations, and required clearances.
  • Assemble and fit mechanical and electrical components to create sub‑assemblies and completed assemblies.
  • Assemble and wire control devices, including cutting and preparing wires to specified lengths.
  • Make necessary adjustments to ensure proper alignment, fit, and clearances.Install units and assemblies such as pan assemblies, meters, relays, fuses, transformers, panel boards, reactors, and other electrical/mechanical components by mounting or bolting into place.
  • Assemble and install bus work, including lug adapters, crossover bus, and splices.
  • Build pre‑bent cable units, MTB harnesses, and control panel harnesses using pre‑cable boards and hand‑crimp lugs as required.
  • Modify standard assemblies or doors, including altering cutouts using hand or power tools.
  • Perform wiring changes and updates as required by production or engineering.
  • Operate floor‑controlled overhead and jib cranes to move units, device panels, harnesses, and other components safely.
  • Inspect work for quality, report issues to supervision or Quality Control, and maintain required piece counts and records.
  • Mark wires, devices, terminals, harnesses, and panels; apply identification labels (e.g., Brady or Dymo); and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Follow all required safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment throughout the manufacturing process.


Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
• High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution is required

Preferred Qualifications:
• Minimum of 3 months previous experience in manufacturing environment
• Previous experience reading schematic drawings/ blueprints

  • Ability to work effectively both independently and within team environments.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime to meet business needs.
  • Strong understanding of wiring diagrams, schematics, and related technical documentation.
  • Skilled in using a variety of hand tools to assemble and wire products in a lean manufacturing setting.
  • Self‑motivated with the ability to achieve results with minimal supervision.
  • Capable of performing physical tasks including standing, walking, sitting, reaching above shoulder height, gripping, and handling components.
  • Ability to lift or carry up to 35 lbs. and push or pull up to 35 lbs., with or without accommodation.
  • Adequate vision for close and far work, including depth perception and color recognition.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow 5S or similar workplace organization standards.
  • Ensure all health and safety equipment is properly used and kept in good working condition.
