🏥 Travel RN – PCU / Stepdown | Grand Island, NE | Night Shift 🏥

We are seeking an experienced Stepdown / PCU Registered Nurse to join a busy 33-bed progressive care unit in Grand Island, Nebraska. This unit cares for high-acuity medical patients and requires nurses who thrive in a fast-paced environment and are comfortable managing complex cases.

📍 Position Details

• Title: Travel RN – PCU / Stepdown

• Location: Grand Island, NE 68803

• Shift: Nights | 12-hour shifts (6:30 PM – 7:00 AM)

• Radius Rule: 50 miles (Driver’s license required at submission)

🏥 Unit Overview

• Beds: 33

• Ratios: 1:4–5

• Patient Population: Adult and geriatric patients with complex medical conditions

🩺 Common Diagnoses

• Sepsis

• STEMI

• CHF and chest pain

• Stroke

• COPD

• Renal failure

• DKA

• COVID and multisystem failure patients

💊 Clinical Responsibilities

• Titrate drips including Heparin, Amiodarone, Cardizem, Nitroglycerin, Insulin, and IV antibiotics

• Monitor and interpret telemetry rhythms

• Provide care for patients requiring BiPAP and Airvo respiratory support

• Deliver high-quality patient care in a fast-paced progressive care setting

📋 Requirements

• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS

• Must pass a 90% open-book exam during orientation

• Artificial nails are not permitted in patient care areas

📅 Additional Details

• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend

• Holiday Requirement: As needed

• Floating: May float to MedSurg, Inpatient Rehab, or Skilled Care

• Scrubs: Navy Blue

• Orientation: 1 week classroom + 2 unit shifts
