About this job
Performs a variety of general maintenance duties and implementation of management actions on open space properties. Specific duties include: monitor and inventory natural resources and public uses on open space properties; install/maintain signs, fences and boundary markers; conduct and supervise volunteers on restoration and trail improvement projects; inspect, maintain and construct natural surface trails and associated features; monitor recreational uses; maintain tools and equipment; other work as assigned including occasional office work.
Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school in natural resource management or a related field, and one to two years of open space and trails related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Demonstrated ability to be self-directed and work well with a team or individually. Ability to effectively work with and supervise volunteers. Experience completing on-the-ground resource protection and trail maintenance/construction projects is preferred. May be required to work some evenings and weekends. Proficiency in Microsoft Office required and GIS/GPS proficiency a plus. Valid Colorado Driver’s license required at time of hire and throughout employment and ability to safely operate and maintain power tools.
