Johnstown Area Team Smiley Freelance - Full-time / Part-time

Members of Team Smiley act as brand ambassadors at community events and restaurant appearances by interacting with guests to promote the brand, all while bringing the Smiley mascot to life!

Eat’n Park is investing in the Greater Johnstown area with remodels of all our local stores, including a BRAND NEW restaurant in Richland Township! We will be hosting Grand Opening activities and promoting the brand throughout the late spring and summer, and we’re looking for dedicated local individuals to help reinvigorate our relationship with guests in this region through events and other outreach. Assignments may include:

• Assisting with Grand Opening activities at the new restaurant like ribbon cuttings, giveaways, and vendor popups
• Staffing Smiley mascot appearances at our restaurants or community events
• Facilitating Smiley Cookie decorating and free swag tables at our restaurants or community events
• Distributing flyers to local businesses

As a part of our Freelance Team Smiley, a flexible part-time position, you’ll represent the area’s leading restaurant chain and work with the public in a high-profile role. It’s a great opportunity for individuals who are interested in gaining hands-on experience in field marketing and networking with our brand. This position is flexible and is a great opportunity for those maintaining another job or class schedule. Events are typically in the Johnstown area, but may provide the opportunity for travel to the Pittsburgh or Altoona markets.

Responsibilities:         

• Positively represent Eat'n Park at various community events, photo shoots, sporting events, and more.
• Assist with community partnerships and sales building tasks.
• Charm guests by being upbeat, outgoing, and engaging.
• Dress and perform as Smiley, Eat'n Park's mascot, at events and restaurant appearances.
• Represent our restaurant brands at community events with Smiley Cookie decorating, Smiley mascot appearances, samplings, and other fun and games.
• Uphold Eat'n Park's image by always appearing and behaving professionally.
• Engage in dialogue with guests about current promotions and company initiatives to help drive sales and build brand affinity.
• Occasionally, assist summer interns and the Cookie Cruiser (our branded party on wheels!) at larger events within Pennsylvania.
• Submit paperwork properly completed and on time.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years of age
• Must reside in the Greater Johnstown area
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Reliable internet access
• Ability to work effectively within a team
• Ability to work independently without direct supervision
• Self-motivated, responsible, and punctual
• Upbeat, outgoing, engaging personality
• Initiative and creative thinking
• Excellent customer service skills and professional image
• Flexible schedule with weekend and weekend availability, particularly in late May and June
• Enjoys working with children
• An affinity for Eat’n Park
