Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU position at a children's medical center in Austin, TX, requiring a minimum of 2 years of Pediatric CVICU experience and TX or compact RN license.
Details
- High-acuity, fast-paced cardiovascular stand-alone pediatric unit
- Patient population includes congenital heart disease/defects, surgical CHD, heart failure, arrhythmias, transplant, and VAD/Berlin Heart patients
- Age range spans neonatal through young adult, with occasional adult CHD patients
- Nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:1 or 1:2 for ICU status; 1:3 for stepdown/non-ICU patients
- Night shift: 18:45–07:15
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active TX RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
- Current certifications required: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), and PALS
- NIH Stroke Scale certification required (Group A renewed yearly; Groups B–F renewed every 2 years)
- Minimum 2 years of Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) experience required
- Valid U.S. Social Security Number and U.S. home address required
- Must provide two professional references, a copy of Driver's License, and skills checklist for consideration

- Provides critical care nursing to a high-acuity pediatric cardiovascular patient population
