Head Start Support Staff/10-Month, Stewart Park $16-$16.25/hour
Description
Pro Action’s Head Start Program is accepting applications for Classroom Support Staff in our Stewart Park Classroom. The successful candidate will have direct daily interaction with children and assist with implementing classroom and small group activities. As a Classroom Support Staff, you are a valued member of the classroom team working with young children and building strong relationships with families within the community.
Job Duties
Mak on-going observations of children’s development and maintain anecdotal records.
Assist in establishing and maintaining a safe, healthy, and learning environment.
Supervise and interact with children during planned classroom activities such as indoor/outdoor play, large or small group instruction, circle-time, mealtimes, cleanup, etc.
Ideal Skills
Basic organizational and basic math skills.
Communication and language skills to comprehend documents and other correspondence.
Basic computer skills with basic knowledge o Excel Microsoft Office and other office equipment such as copier, scanner, fax, etc.
Ability to interact with customers from a variety of backgrounds.
Capability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in written and oral form.
Job Requirement
A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
The ideal candidate must have a valid driver’s license, meeting agency standards per position and consistent, reliable transportation that will allow regular travel in and around the service area.
