Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Ability to effectively communicate with local businesses, postsecondary institutions, and community organizations
  • Excellent communication skills: facilitation, collaboration, and listening; time management and organizational
  • Valid Florida Teacher Certification in an applicable subject area or grade level

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Master’s degree in Education or related field.
  • Prior experience in career guidance or a similar role
  • Additional certifications or endorsements relevant to specific subject areas.
  • Experience in Charlotte County

Performance Responsabilities:

  1. Directs the implementation of the school's career planning guide, ensuring consistent application and administration.
  2. Facilitates student progress and completion towards their 3 E checklist (enrolled, enlisted, or employed).
  3. Provides career counseling sessions, workshops, and resources for students to explore their chosen E (enrolled, enlisted, or employed).
  4. Keeps the school's administration team informed about the status of student completion of the career planning guide.
  5. Delivers presentations to students, parents, and faculty about the career planning guide and its benefits.
  6. Represents the school at district-level career planning guide meetings and share relevant information with the administration and staff.
  7. Acts as the lead trainer for the state-approved career planning software, guiding and training staff and students.
  8. Organizes career exploration activities, including presentations, field trips, and industry partner activities.
  9. Plans and executes the school's college and career fairs, connecting students with higher education representatives and potential employers.
  10. Develops and maintains partnerships with employers, postsecondary institutions, and military recruiters.
  11. Assists students with FAFSA and FFAA completion, as well as scholarship opportunities.
  12. Maintains a listing of employment opportunities and assist students with job search, interview preparation, and employment skills.
  13. Facilitates college and career exam administration (ex., SAT, ACT, ASVAB).
  14. Performs other job-related functions as may be assigned.
