Position Overview:
Fiber Optics Cable Lineman will be expected to assist with installing, preparing, and troubleshooting fiber optic cables. Willingness to travel is a must.
Essential Functions:
- Installing ropes and pulling in new ADSS/aerial fiber.
- Modifies the circuitry to improve the cable’s performance.
- Constructs and examines different types of electrical, electronic, and/or mechanical equipment and related devices.
- Establishing OSHA and company/customer safety requirements.
Minimum Requirements:
- Must be willing to travel and work away from home.
- Must be able to perceive differences in wire cable colors.
- Must be able to read and understand electrical drawings.
- Well-versed with cable removal, installation, multi-cable transits and other technical requirements.
- Driver's License is required. Commercial Driver’s License is preferred.
- Must be able to drive all vehicles assigned to the crew.
- Must be able to pass a background check, motor vehicle records check and a preemployment drug screen.
