**Position Purpose:**
The Senior Data Engineer is an experienced individual contributor responsible for designing, building, and operating scalable data platforms and data products within the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW). This includes developing and maintaining core data domains, semantic layers, and enabling downstream analytics consumers. This engineer partners with staff and principal engineers to implement established architectural patterns, contribute to platform modernization efforts, and provide technical guidance through collaboration and code reviews while remaining hands‑on in complex backend data engineering work. The role emphasizes reliability, performance, cost efficiency, and analytical correctness across the EDW ecosystem.

**Travel Requirements:**

**Physical Requirements:**
+ Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
**Working Conditions:**
+ Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
**Minimum Qualifications:**
+ Must be eighteen years of age or older.
+ Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ 2-4 years of experience in backend data engineering or analytics platform engineering
+ Strong hands-on experience with cloud data warehouses (BigQuery strongly preferred)
+ Advanced SQL expertise and strong working knowledge of Python
+ Proven experience designing enterprise-grade data models, including curated/ADS datasets
+ Experience building and supporting semantic layers (AtScale preferred, but not required)
+ Experience with universal or shared semantic modeling across multiple domains or products
+ Experience with CI/CD and orchestration frameworks, including Jenkins and Airflow
+ Strong understanding of performance tuning and cost optimization techniques in large data environments
+ Experience designing systems for high availability, resilience, and scalability
+ Ability to work across teams and influence architectural decisions without direct authority
**Minimum Education:**
+ The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.
