Transmission Journeyperson Lineman - ULCS Reg 101

Company Overview:

Utility Lines Construction Services, LLC. is currently seeking an Journeyperson Lineman to join their Transmission Construction Department. Our company performs work from North Carolina to Delaware. Our home office is located in Baltimore, Maryland but our clients are located in the Mid-Atlantic region.

Sign-On Bonus:

We will pay a $5,000 sign-on bonus to a newly hired Transmission Journeyperson Lineperson under the following circumstances. After 6 months of continuous service, the employee will receive $2,500.00. After 12 months of continuous service, the employee will receive the additional $2,500.00. There will be no pay out to an employee for partial completion of milestones and the employee cannot be a rehire (within 6 months) or an employee from another UtiliCon organization.

Position Overview:

Journeyperson Lineperson will be expected to build, maintain and repair overhead transmission lines using approved standards under direction of the Foreperson, General Foreperson, Project Manager and Supervisor. Responsible for safe operation of equipment and operations on digger trucks and bucket trucks in order to construct and maintain electrical systems of de-energized overhead transmission lines. Willingness to travel is a must.

Essential Functions:

  • Experience in the installation and maintenance of wood poles, H-frames, steel poles, lattice towers and concrete poles.
  • Experience with hot stick work and/or distribution experience.
  • Installs, operates, maintains and repairs overhead electrical power lines and systems.
  • Assists in the construction of transmission and substation facilities.
  • Works on various structure types of transmission lines at voltages from 69 kV to 500kV.
  • Establishing OSHA and company/customer safety requirements.
  • Mentoring ground persons and apprentice linepersons.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be willing to travel and work away from home.
  • Experience with digger derricks and bucket trucks is required.
  • Must be able to climb wood poles, steel poles and lattice steel towers without the assistance of a Boom or Bucket Truck.
  • Ability to work at heights up to and above 100 feet.
  • Driver's License required. Commercial Driver’s License is preferred.
  • Must be able to drive all vehicles assigned to the line crew.
  • Must be able to pass a background check, motor vehicle records check and a pre-employment drug screen.
