UT Health Quitman is a comprehensive, community-focused hospital featuring 25 private patient rooms, a 24-hour Level IV Trauma Center, and a designated Stroke-Ready Center. The facility includes modern surgical suites, advanced diagnostic services, swing bed care, cardiopulmonary rehabilitation, on-site physician clinics, and a dedicated sleep lab. Key service lines include Joint Replacement and Orthopedic Care.
This unit is supported by a strong, multidisciplinary team of 49 staff members.
In this role, you will provide oversight and leadership to ensure high-quality patient care, efficient unit operations, and a collaborative team environment.
Responsibilities
- The nurse director is a professional registered nurse with twenty-four-hour responsibility for assigned departments within established standards to achieve the mission and vision of the organization.
- The nursing director is responsible for overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the unit/departments and executes supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
- The nurse director provides leadership and mentorship in the development of leaders and staff.
- The nurse director is responsible for monitoring and evaluating quality, patient satisfaction, and employee satisfaction outcomes to implement strategies for improvement.
- The nurse director is a change agent and will establish strong collaborative relationships with physicians.
- Responsible for overall administrative, financial, and clinical activities of assigned departments.
Qualifications
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing.
- Current RN license or current license deemed acceptable by the applicable State Board of Nursing.
- Requires strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Preferred Job Requirements:
- Certification in clinical specialty or nursing administration.
- Minimum of five (or 3-5) years’ clinical nursing experience, of which 3 (or 2) years must have been in a management capacity.
- Master’s Degree in Nursing or within 2 years.
