Sales Associates don’t just sell products – they help customers solve problems. In this role you’ll assist customers throughout the store while supporting daily store operations including stocking, merchandising, and maintaining a clean and organized environment. Cashiers will receive cash from customers or associates in payment for goods or services in a quick and friendly manner while providing genuine customer service.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Customer Service
- Greet customers warmly and assist them throughout the store
- Drive Sales by helping customers find solutions for home improvement and hardware projects and helping customers find any needed items to complete their project.
- Deliver personalized service with the goal of “Amazing Every Customer, Every Time”
- Maintain strong knowledge of store products and layout
- Handle customer questions and concerns and escalate concerns to management when needed
- Answer store phones and pages promptly and courteously, using good phone etiquette.
- Remain honest and communicative with customers, associates and management
Store Operations
- Receive, check in, and stock merchandise, rotate stock, help keep accurate inventory
- Maintain organized shelves, displays, and back stock areas
- Assist with merchandising, seasonal resets, and promotional displays
- Help maintain a clean, safe, and organized sales floor and stockroom
- Ensure signage and pricing are accurate
- Participate in team meetings and support store initiatives and goals
- Follows all store and department policies and procedures.
- Performs fixed activities as assigned.
- Other duties may be assigned.
- Use provided communication and own tools, in an effort to help the team work in the most efficient way
Cashier:
- Manage transactions using a register
- Scanning goods and ensuring pricing and quantities are accurate, in an efficient and prompt manner
- Accepting payments in cash, credit, or check and providing receipts
- Bagging purchased goods
- Ensures proper handling of all forms of tender and coupons.
- Processes and is accountable for other services handled at the register.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and these holidays (Memorial Day weekend, 4th July and around that day, and Labor Day Weekend).
- Age 14+ are encouraged to apply
- Must want to engage in work and be a part of our store, more than just collecting a paycheck. Taking pride in were you work
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Some hardware knowledge is preferred but not required
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Willingness to learn about hardware products and home improvement solutions
- Retail, hardware, or trade experience helpful but not required
LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
- Write routine reports and correspondence
- Present information and respond to questions from customers or associates
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
- Basic math concepts (addition, subtraction, division, multiplication, measurements, aspects of the calender and dates)
