This role involves operating specialized CNC equipment to process steel components while maintaining accuracy, quality, and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

Set up and operate CNC equipment, including plasma cutters, beam drill lines, and angle lines for structural steel fabrication

Interpret fabrication drawings, blueprints, and work orders to understand project requirements

Load, position, and secure steel materials such as beams and plates using overhead cranes and rigging tools

Monitor machine performance and make necessary adjustments to maintain precision and quality

Use measuring instruments such as tape measures, calipers, and squares to verify dimensions and tolerances

Make basic programming edits or adjustments to accommodate variations in material size or thickness

Perform routine equipment maintenance and troubleshoot minor mechanical issues

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with OSHA and company safety standards

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school training is a plus

At least 2 years of CNC operation experience in structural steel fabrication or heavy manufacturing

Ability to read and interpret structural steel shop drawings

Proficient in the use of precision measuring tools

Experience operating overhead cranes, forklifts, and rigging equipment preferred

Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail

Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced setting
