div pstrongOBAYASHI CORPORATION /strongis seeking a summer Tunnel Engineer intern candidate with an interest in Tunneling and/or Underground Projects in the USA./p pstrongKEY ROLE amp; RESPONSIBILITIES:  /strong/p pThis position is expected to start in May/June 2026 and continue through August 2026, if available. We ask for a minimum of 12 weeks, full-time and on-site, for most internships./p pContribute and learn about tunneling and underground projects (SEM tunnels, shafts, mining, and any other underground structure works) undertaken by Obayashi Corporation to manage self-perform activities and coordinate subcontractors’ works./p ul liTake directions from Project Managers for day-to-day tasks/li liMaintain daily logs (written and photos) as required regarding job progress, costs, material usage, etc./li liPerform quality control duties such as field survey, instrumentation monitoring/li liCoordinate required inspections with local jurisdictions/li liField engineering, operation planning, cost control, project scheduling, quantity tracking, material procurement, contract administration, estimating amp; supervision of field activities/li liReviewing plans and specifications to determine material requirements (quantities and qualities), pricing of materials, etc./li liInvestigating problems and/or reported incidents, identifying and recommending solutions/alternatives as appropriate/li liPerforming engineering tasks requiring standard techniques and handling minor problems of a technical nature arising during construction/li liAssist with scheduling subcontractors and vendors, working with suppliers as required, facilitating the handling and expediting delivery of materials/li liIdentify potential hazards and report them to supervisors to ensure a safe working environment./li liFollow all safety procedures on the job site and report violations immediately to management/li /ul h3strongQUALIFICATIONS/strong:/h3 ul liCurrently pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field/li liStrong communication and organizational skills/li liStrong interpersonal skills and a record of collaboration and teamwork/li liHave the ability to work independently as well as part of a team/li liWillingness to travel and work in outdoor environments/li liEagerness to learn and contribute to team success/li liBasic understanding of construction and documentation is a plus/li /ul pstrongOTHER:/strong/p ul liAble to work after hours, night shift, weekends, and on-call when needed./li liAbility to walk and work on outdoor construction job sites./li liAbility to carry and/or lift up to 40 lbs./li liHave the ability to work underground/li liReliable transportation to and from work/li liMust have a valid Driver's License/li /ul pstrongHOURLY PAY RANGES:/strong/p ul listrong$25-30/ HOUR/strong/li /ul pemThe expected pay range for this position is $25.00 to $30.00 per /ememhour.
