div pstrongOBAYASHI - JAY DEE, JV/strong is seeking a Tunnel Laborer / Miner to provide essential support for our tunnel project in Manchester, NH. This position reports to the Foreman and plays a key role in maintaining site safety and efficiency. This is an hourly, nonexempt position. Start pay at strong$29.00/hr/strong DOE.   /p pstrongResponsibilities/strong /p ul liExcavation Support: Assist with digging, drilling, and blasting operations to excavate earth and rock. /li liInstall tunnel support structures, such as braces, rock bolts, and precast segment liners, to ensure ground stability. /li liGeneral maintenance of the tunnel, including, but not limited to, installation and maintenance of tunnel utility lines, ventilation, grout system, and cutting tools changes for the Tunnel Boring Machine. /li liHyperbaric work (voluntary basis) to perform general maintenance of the Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) under pressure, generally 20 psi, but may be up to 36 psi (proper training will be provided) /li liHelp remove excavated material and other waste from the tunnel using conveyors, haulage equipment, or manual means. /li liSafely operate a variety of hand tools (shovels, picks, digging bars) and power tools (jackhammers, sinking hammers, drills, concrete saws), and potentially heavy machinery. /li liLoad, unload, and transport materials and supplies to and from the work area. /li liAssist skilled tradespeople with the installation of electrical, mechanical, ventilation, and waterproofing systems. /li liClean and prepare the job site, maintain a safe work environment, inspect the work area for hazards, and report any potential issues. /li liAble to carry or move 40lbs of materials multiple times an hour without any assistance; stand or move materials.    /li /ul pstrongWork Environment/strong /p ul liPrimarily underground spaces.  /li liThe job is physically demanding and requires working in various climates and temperatures, often in noisy, dirty, and wet conditions.  /li liPossibility to work in hyperbaric conditions (pressurized environment up to 36 psi) on a volunteer basis (not mandatory). /li liMay require extended hours, nights, weekends, and on-call for emergencies. /li liA willingness to work shifts, which may include weekends and overtime, as necessary.  /li liAble to maintain composure in potentially stressful situations. /li liWillingness to work in all weather conditions. /li liInvolves close collaboration with a team of engineers, geologists, equipment operators, and safety officers.  /li /ul pstrongQualifications/strong /p ul liSafety Orientation: A strong commitment to safety protocols and the ability to comply with all federal and state safety regulations (OSHA certification is often required). /li liExperience: Previous experience in the construction industry, particularly underground construction, mining, or drilling, is preferred. /li liMechanical Aptitude: Familiarity with operating and maintaining a range of construction tools and equipment. /li liSoft Skills: Strong communication skills, the ability to work effectively in a team, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities are essential. /li liEducation: A high school diploma or equivalent is typically required.  /li liOSHA 10 or 30 trained required /li /ul pstrongPreferred Skills /strong /p ul liExperience with tunnel-specific equipment (TBM, locomotives, slurry systems). /li liFamiliarity with underground construction practices. /li liQualified Rigger or Certified Rigger preferred /li /ul pstrongPhysical requirements/strong  /p pAbility to lift at least 40 lbs. unassisted, and the capacity to stoop, bend, crawl, and maneuver in tight spaces.
