ITIRE Intern - Full-time / Part-time

Summary

Join our Yokohama Tire Manufacturing Mississippi (YTMM) Increasing Talented Innovators through Real Exposure (ITIRE) Summer Intern program at our state-of-the-art manufacturing plant in West Point, MS. This internship provides a unique opportunity for high school students to gain hands-on-experience in the manufacturing industry. As an intern, you will work closely with our skilled professionals, participating in various aspects of the production process.

Responsibilities

• Assist in day-to-day manufacturing operations.
• Learn and apply basic assembly and production techniques.
• Collaborate with team members to achieve production goals.
• Gain exposure to quality control procedures.
• Follow safety protocols and guidelines always.
• Contribute ideas for process improvement and efficiency.
• Participate in training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge.
• Perform 2S and 5S.

Education and Experience

• Rising Juniors & Rising Seniors (High School)
• Must have a 2.60 – above Grade Point Average
• Must have a letter of recommendation from one of the following people: teacher, guidance counselor, career coach, administrator, community leader, or a YTMM employee.
• Submit a 100-word essay explaining why this experience will aid in their career development.

Physical Requirements

• Must reside in one of the following counties: Clay, Lowndes, Monroe, Oktibbeha, Chickasaw or Noxubee
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Must be able to lift 50lbs consistently.
