Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric ICU position requiring at least one year of nursing experience, AHA-issued certifications, and Level 1 experience.

Details

  • Position is in a hospital Pediatric ICU (PICU)
  • Night shift schedule
  • Full-time, 36 hours per week with three 12-hour shifts
  • CVICU and NICU experience is preferred
  • Level 1 trauma experience is required

Requirements

  • Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or a current multistate compact RN license (eNLC) required
  • Current BLS and PALS certifications required — both must be issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Minimum of one year of RN experience required
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
  • Level 1 facility experience required
  • Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures
  • Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing care
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic computer skills required
  • Full date of birth (DOB) required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients and delivers competent patient care
  • Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments
  • Monitors physiological data, administers medications, and manages IV infusions and blood products
  • Collaborates with physicians during examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
  • Engages patients and families in care planning throughout the hospital stay and at discharge
  • Delegates tasks to support staff as appropriate
  • Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates are not accepted
  • Travelers who have previously worked at this facility may only extend once for a total of 26 weeks; a 6-month separation is required before being eligible for another contract
  • Compliance deadlines are strictly enforced — candidates should be prepared to begin onboarding immediately upon acceptance
