8460 Maintenance-KHMCReporting to the VP of Support Services, the Director of Facilities is responsible for the general management and outcomes of the activities and functions which are necessary to maintain the physical structures, utility systems, mechanical and electrical systems, HVAC, and grounds in a safe, compliant, and operative working condition within all Kaweah Health's facilities. The Director collaborates with the Executive Team and the Finance Division, and actively participates in the capital spending and strategic planning processes. The Director is engaged in planning and implementation of multiple facility-related projects related to the physical plant of all facilities within the District. She/he ensures that projects are developed and managed effectively within established project budgets and schedules. The Director collaborates with facilities support personnel pertaining to space-use planning, capital and medical equipment expenditure planning, and public relations efforts. This position frequently presents to the Board of Directors and the Senior Leadership Team.

QUALIFICATIONS

License /Certification
Preferred:  Certified Health Care Facility Manager (CHFM)

Education
Required: Bachelor's degree OR minimum of ten years of combined progressive experience in a healthcare setting relative to maintenance operations and construction.

Preferred: Graduate level education

Experience
Required: Minimum five years of senior management role with experience in a healthcare setting relative to maintenance operations and construction for licensed facilities.  General understanding of applicable licensing requirements and compliances standards required by HCAi (OSHPD), CDPH, The Joint Commission, etc.  Experienced in capital planning, design management, and execution of facilities projects, preferably within inpatient and outpatient healthcare facilities
Preferred: Experience with Co-Generation Plant operation.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Knowledge of Joint Commission, HCAi (OSHPD), and Title 19,22,24 codes, as well as all Life Safety requirements.
Proficient understanding in central utility plant operations, electronics and/or HVAC- cooling, plumbing, electrical, building automation, life safety systems, general construction and repair methods.

Familiar with the principles and best practices of preventative maintenance programs, project planning, design, construction, and management.
Knows how to develop, implement and monitor budgets.
Familiar with laws, regulations, contracts, agreements, specifications and procedures related to public contracting requirements.
Displays strong leadership and organizational management skills.
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
Ability to effectively collaborate with the organization's leadership team and project stakeholders.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential:
Responsible for safe and proper operation of Kaweah Health hospital facilities complying with Joint Commission, Federal, State policies and applicable OSHPD codes.
Oversees, manages, and coordinates efforts of either the Maintenance Department and Co-generation Plant. Supervises department Supervisors and Leads, if applicable.
Interviews, hires, evaluates, counsels, and terminates according to policy.
Maintains good interdepartmental and intradepartmental relationships by providing the highest level of services, management assistance and open communication.
Develops department staff via ongoing in-service education, on-the-job training, evaluations, competencies, and open departmental meetings.
Capable of managing projects, installation of equipment, directing of manpower internal and external in a professional cost effective manner.
Coordinates Maintenance functions throughout Kaweah Health as needed. Administers departmental operating budget within guidelines coding all costs per department and OSHPD cost codes.
Oversees and reports the general condition of each facility and the general progress of maintenance demand work orders.
Coordinates between departments throughout Kaweah Health in scheduling work in a safe and timely manner and assisting in troubleshooting any and all problems.
Completes performance evaluations, or oversees and reviews performance evaluations of Maintenance staff conducted by the Supervisor. Completes or oversees staff discipline and counseling as well as the design and implementation of staff training methods. Makes recommendations or approvals as necessary.
Finds available cost-effective training on both on and off site for Facility. Develop teamwork and accountability within departments.

Participates in strategic planning for Kaweah Health growth and expansion.

Assists in the development of short- and long-term plans for capital expansion projects.

Develops and manages budgets and schedules for short- and long-term capital projects.

Enhances professional growth and maintains awareness of current industry trends, legislation or research which could impact the programs and facilities planning of the Kaweah Health.

Participate in Environment of Care Committee and Emergency Management and Preparedness Committee.

Pay Range

$77.33 -$116.00
