This position is located in Mahoning County, Canfield, OH.
The Ohio State University Extension (OSUE) seeks an Educator to work collaboratively with county, area, and state teams of OSU Extension professionals, as well as local agency leaders, community partners, and volunteers. The Educator will provide leadership for Agriculture and Natural Resources and 4-H Youth Development programming that addresses local and area needs, with particular attention to urban audiences and community engagement. Using both formal and informal methods of community assessment, the Educator will identify educational needs and opportunities and will design, implement, and teach educational programs for youth and adult audiences through school enrichment, community programs, and volunteer-led initiatives. The Educator may replicate and implement existing Extension programs while also developing new educational resources, curriculum, publications, and programming to meet local needs. The Educator will develop promotional materials, lead and support committees and volunteer groups, and establish and maintain community partnerships that support program goals. Responsibilities include participating in discussions with county representatives regarding program funding, assisting with management of the county Extension budget, and seeking external funding to support local programming. The Educator will actively participate as a member of county, multi-county, and state Extension teams to advance the mission, vision, and values of Ohio State University Extension.
Candidates must be willing to work flexible hours with a minimum of supervision. Hours could include days, evenings, and weekends.

The offer for this position will fall within this range based on internal equity, unit’s available budget, and the candidate’s qualifications.
