Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Labor & Delivery night shift position requiring a CO or compact RN license and a minimum of 7 years of experience.
Details
- Labor & Delivery (L&D) unit within a hospital setting
- Cares for women through labor, delivery, postpartum, and provides direct newborn care
- Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 36 hours per week
- May be required to rotate shifts and areas based on staffing and census needs
- On-call required
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active CO RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
- Current BLS (CPR) certification required
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) and ACLS required within one year of employment
- Minimum of 7 years of RN experience required
- Obstetrics nursing experience required
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods and perform heavy lifting
- Ability to perform effectively in highly stressful situations
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include monitoring labor progress, preparing for C-sections and inductions, administering IV medications, and documenting nursing care
- Provides care during labor, post-delivery, and postpartum, including infant care and patient education
- Prepares the delivery room, provides emotional support, and coordinates patient transfers
- Adheres to principles of sterile technique, infection control, and OB department policies
- Reports directly to the New Beginnings Birth Center Manager
- Role involves exposure to blood and body fluids and potential exposure to infectious diseases
