Salary Range: $25 - $50 per hour depending on experience

Here's what Skillit needs from you:

• Past experience in construction equipment mechanic jobs or a related supporting industry.
• Past experience in fixing and maintaining different machinery used in construction, earthmoving or excavation.
• Strong attention to detail, interpersonal skills, mechanical aptitude and the ability to follow safety protocols.
• Physical stamina to handle demanding job site conditions and long shifts.
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
• Understanding of GPS equipment and operations.

Here's what you'll be doing:

• Inspect heavy equipment
• Diagnose problems, often using computerized tools
• Repair or replace defective parts using hand tools and power tools
• Test equipment that has been repaired and make adjustments
• Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work
• Disassemble and reassemble equipment
• Consult equipment operating manuals and blueprints
• Travel to worksites to repair heavy equipment
• Maintain equipment repair logs
