Roles & Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality, evidence-based critical care to medical and neuro ICU patients
  • Manage and monitor patients on CRRT/CVVH and intervene promptly for renal and hemodynamic needs
  • Perform rapid assessment and interventions for sepsis, respiratory failure, and post-cardiac arrest patients
  • Operate and troubleshoot ventilators and advanced ICU monitoring equipment
  • Collaborate with physicians, RTs, pharmacists and interdisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes
  • Safely float between Medical ICU, SICU and IMC while maintaining expected unit ratios (typically 1:2 or 1:1 for high acuity)
  • Document patient care accurately and maintain compliance with unit and program requirements

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Certifications: NIHSS, BLS and ACLS (American Heart Association) — required
  • Minimum experience: 1 year in a Level 1 ICU preferred (otherwise 2 years preferred in MICU setting)
  • Strong critical care background with experience in CRRT/CVVH, sepsis management, and respiratory failure care
  • Comfort floating across MICU, SICU and IMC and adapting to varied patient acuity
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively on a busy night team
Knowledge & Skills
  • Expertise in critical care nursing and medical ICU workflows
  • Experience with Neuro Critical Care patient populations and NIHSS assessments
  • Proficiency with CRRT/CVVH care and AKI/ESRD management
  • Strong ACLS/BLS skills and advanced cardiac life support interventions
  • Ability to manage complex ventilator settings and respiratory failure scenarios
  • Familiarity with ICU documentation, patient ratios, and level 1 trauma/critical care expectations
