Louisiana Emergency Medicine locums centered on no trauma coverage and a schedule built around consecutive 12 hour shifts, making it easy to plug into your travel or block schedule.

• Day or night 12 hour shifts, choose days, nights, or both based on your availability
• Psych heavy mix with dedicated psych team support, you are not managing those patients alone

Practice Setting

• Emergency department coverage across two locations, main and south
• All ages patient population
• Mix of inpatient and outpatient care pathways through the ED
• APP coverage in place, main site has 12 hours of APP support and south has 8 hours

Schedule

• Ongoing coverage needs with 12 hour shifts
• Day and night options available, align to your preferred circadian schedule
• Facility works to group consecutive shifts for travelers
• No call required

Cases and Procedures

• Full scope EM procedures including lines, airways, and chest tubes
• Higher than typical psych volume, with a psych team that takes over
• No trauma cases

Volume and Flow

• Main campus averages about 70 patients per 24 hours, can peak higher on surge days
• South campus averages about 45 patients per 24 hours

Requirements

• Must be an MD or DO
• Board Certified in Emergency Medicine
• Louisiana license, will consider candidates with an active IMLC LOQ, Open to IMLC Physicians
• FM or IM physicians considered with EM experience

Credentialing

• Credentialing typically runs 60 to 90 days
• Background sensitive process, clean history strongly preferred
