About this job
We're hiring a licensed pharmacist for a contract position in Lander, WY, at a hospital where you will use clinical expertise to ensure safe and accurate distribution of medications for adult and geriatric patients. Perform medication order interpretation, compounding, dispensing, supervision of technical staff, and clinical consultation. Participate in quality improvement, medication safety, and educational activities. Maintain pharmacy security and controlled substance accountability. Prepare and verify IV and unit-dose products, maintain aseptic technique, and generate required pharmacy reports.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Active Wyoming Board of Pharmacy license required. License must be attached to submission.
- Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association required. Certification must be attached to submission.
- Minimum 1 year recent hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
- Experience with sterile compounding, IV preparation, and aseptic technique.
- Experience entering medication orders and reviewing patient profiles to prevent therapeutic duplication and adverse drug reactions.
- Ability to calculate pharmacokinetic dosing, fluid/electrolyte and caloric needs, and interpret drug levels per protocol.
- Experience supervising pharmacy technicians and verifying technician-prepared products.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in community hospital settings preferred. Include facility names, dates, and reporting manager when applicable.
- Familiarity with pharmacy reporting (IV pick, production reports) and backup procedures.
- Experience working with adult and geriatric patient populations.
Assignment Details
- Shift hours: 07:30–18:00.
- Shift length includes a 10.5-hour operational expectation per schedule details.

Impacting Patient Care
Work collaboratively with the Director of Pharmacy and clinical staff to ensure safe, effective medication therapy. Provide drug information, support clinical programs, and contribute to medication safety and quality improvement initiatives. Serve as a consultant to medical and hospital staff and assist in training and supervising pharmacy personnel.
