Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance (PM) on trucks and trailers with minimal supervision
  • Diagnose and repair engines, transmissions, differentials, turbochargers, and fuel systems
  • Conduct road tests and inspections to identify mechanical issues
  • Use diagnostic tools and maintenance software to log and complete repairs
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
  • Follow all DOT, OSHA, and company safety regulations
  • Mentor junior technicians and support team development
  • Participate in ongoing technical training and certification programs
  • Complete additional tasks and projects as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 3+ years of hands-on experience in vehicle or diesel maintenance
  • Experience with diagnostics and repair of major components (engine, drivetrain, etc.)
  • Proficiency with mechanic tools, diagnostic equipment, and repair software
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities
  • Basic computer skills for service documentation


Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical or vocational certification in automotive or diesel repair
  • ASE Certification or OEM training
  • EPA 608/609 certification
  • CDL (Commercial Driver’s License)


Work Environment & Requirements

  • Ability to work in non-climate-controlled environments
  • Willingness to travel locally (customer sites, training locations)
  • Must pass background check and drug screening
  • Compliance with DOT regulations, including:
    • Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) checks
    • DOT physical exam
    • Safety performance history
    • FMCSA Clearinghouse review (if applicable)


Physical Requirements

  • Frequently stand, walk, bend, climb, and lift during shifts
  • Lift up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs occasionally
  • Safely operate in environments with moving heavy vehicles and equipment
  • Work at heights using ladders or platforms when required
  • Perform tasks requiring manual dexterity and tool handling
