Job Description:

Agency RNs will provide inpatient-level nursing care to admitted patients boarding in the Emergency Department while awaiting transfer to an inpatient bed. This role supports patient safety, throughput, and continuity of care during periods of high hospital census.

Responsibilities:

• Provide care to boarder patients with medical-surgical or telemetry needs in the Emergency Department.
• Collaborate with ED physicians, hospitalists, ICU teams, and inpatient services.
• Maintain the care of up to 4 patients (4:1) within the ED boarder care model.
• Provide care consistent with skill set and clinical competency, potentially across different units if required.

Requirements:

• Recent inpatient medical-surgical experience required.
• Active RN license.
• BLS (Basic Life Support).
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS).
