End Date: 08-10-2025

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Rotating nights, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM (12-hour night shifts) with rotating weekends

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $48 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality critical care to ICU patients, including post-op CABG and transplant cases
  • Manage ventilated patients with expert ventilator management and frequent assessments
  • Perform and interpret hemodynamic monitoring to guide timely interventions
  • Provide ECMO support and collaborate with the multidisciplinary team on complex cases
  • Lead bedside shift report and maintain whiteboard updates to ensure safe handoffs
  • Respond to emergencies with ACLS/BLS protocols and effective CPR when needed
  • Document patient care accurately in Meditech and maintain clear communication with providers
  • Support unit goals by floating to other ICUs or PCU when needed and contribute to a positive unit culture

Requirements

Must have: 

  • 2+ years ICU, previous
  • BLS
  • ACLS
  • Hemodynamic monitoring, ACLS, CPR, Ventilated patients. Post CABG care 

Preferred Skills/Advanced Skills Needed: 

  • Meditech experience preferred
  • CVICU experience 

Patient Experience Required: 

  • Bedside shift report required with updates to white board.  Rudeness is not tolerated
Qualifications
  • Active Texas RN license required (temporary licenses are not accepted)
  • Minimum 2+ years ICU experience (critical care/CVICU experience preferred)
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • Proven experience with ventilator management and hemodynamic monitoring
  • Comfortable with high-acuity patients including post-op CABG, ECMO and transplant care
  • Able to perform bedside shift report and maintain professional communication with the team
Knowledge & Skills
  • Strong ICU/critical care nursing knowledge
  • Ventilator management and care of mechanically ventilated patients
  • Hemodynamic monitoring and interpretation of invasive/ non-invasive data
  • Experience with ECMO, heart transplant or CVICU cases (preferred)
  • Familiarity with Meditech documentation system (preferred)
  • Skilled in advanced cardiac life support and emergency response
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
