RN – Cardiac Device

Location: Seattle, Washington
Facility: Virginia Mason Medical Center
Start Date: April 06, 2026
End Date: July 06, 2026 (13 Weeks)
Contract Type: Contract
Shift Type: Days (Mon–Fri)
Shift Schedule: 8-hour shifts (6:30–3, 7–3:30, 8:30–5)
Hours per Week: 40 Hours Guaranteed

Blended Roles and Responsibilities

• Perform cardiac device interrogations and programming
• Manage pacemakers, ICDs, and other implantable devices
• Conduct post-operative wound checks
• Monitor patients through remote device systems
• Support peri-operative cardiac device management (inpatient/outpatient)
• Collaborate with EP physicians, APPs, and interdisciplinary teams
• Provide patient education on device care and follow-up
• Document in Cerner and device management systems
• Respond to same-day consults and device-related needs

Unit Details

• Setting: Outpatient Clinic + Inpatient Support
• Specialty: Cardiac Device / Electrophysiology
• Patient Population: Adults & Geriatrics
• Daily Team: 2 EP Physicians, 3 APPs
• Support Staff: Device RN, Device Tech, and device reps onsite
• Device Types: Boston Scientific, Medtronic, Abbott, Biotronik

Scheduling & Work Environment

• Schedule: Monday–Friday (5x8s)
• No weekends or holidays
• No call required
• Staggered shifts for coverage
• Floating: Between inpatient & outpatient within facility only
• Dress Code: Royal Blue scrubs

Requirements

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years RN experience required
• Strong experience in cardiac device interrogation/programming
• Experience with post-implant care and monitoring
• Ability to work in both clinic and peri-op environments
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Certifications

• BLS (AHA) required
• CCDS (Certified Cardiac Device Specialist) required (or strong equivalent experience may be considered)
• CEPS preferred
