DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As the Facility Safety Manager for Wernersville State Hospital, you will direct and coordinate a comprehensive, organization-wide process to identify and remediate deficiencies within the environment of care management programs. In this leadership capacity, you will manage and supervise all fire, safety, and security functions on the hospital grounds, ensuring that safety policies and work practices are integrated into every activity for the benefit of consumers, employees, volunteers, and visitors. You will be responsible for overseeing the hospital's security management plan, establishing regulatory-compliant procedures, and directing the daily activities of the security staff to maintain a secure environment. This role involves maintaining strict adherence to Life Safety Code standards and fire protection requirements while conducting annual hazard vulnerability assessments and ongoing surveillance inspections of the grounds to mitigate potential risks. Additionally, you will manage the hospital's hazardous materials program and provide direct supervision to the Fire Marshal to guarantee that all fire safety requirements are consistently met. A significant portion of your responsibilities includes the analytical review of employee accidents and injuries, where you will investigate incidents to identify trends and report on unsafe practices. To foster a culture of institutional preparedness, you will also play a lead role in safety education, developing and delivering orientation and continuing training for all hospital personnel.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. This may change based on operational needs.
- Overtime and travel as operationally necessary
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year of professional experience in an organized accident prevention, fire prevention, environmental safety, or security program, and a bachelor's degree; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
