**Location:** Steam Plant - HQ **Department:** Development **Weekly Hours:** 40 **Status:** Full time **Shift:** Days (United States of America) **Job Summary:** To oversee the internal operations of assigned Philanthropy functions and to provide administrative management and leadership of related Executive Directors and support staff; functions in a limited capacity as a Major Gift Officer and/or Foundation Executive Director; and also serves as a member of the Philanthropy Senior Leadership Team. **ACCOUNTABILITIES** *All duties listed below are essential unless noted otherwise* + Responsible for hiring, training, onboarding, evaluating, and leading a team of philanthropy staff working in the various business unit foundation functions. Team includes Executive Directors, Program Managers, and associated support staff. + Assures current, timely and accurate record keeping and reporting for assigned business unit foundations: integration with financial reporting; recording and reporting regarding donor intent; maintenance of accurate donor records; prospect research; and moves management tracking. + Supports business units, health system executives, and relevant Board leaders through supervision of assigned philanthropy staff, and models effective working relationships with all constituencies. + Provides strategic fundraising guidance for system-wide annual giving program, employee giving program, and corporate giving program. Ensures full optimization of each program for donor acquisition annual growth and donor retention, both corporate and private donors. + Oversees daily operations to achieve goals for the department; coaches and facilitates growth and professional development of employees within the team; holds team members accountable to specific, measurable goals and activity performance measures. Provides strategic guidance for system-wide fundraisers on donor cultivation strategies, stewardship, and key fundraising messaging applicable to each business unit/hospital. + In the limited Major Gift Officer role, actively manages assigned donor portfolio - participating in new donor identification/discovery, existing donor cultivation, major gift solicitation, and stewardship. In this role, maintains current and timely donor notes in the philanthropy software database, as well as prepares and executes donor cultivation plans leading to solicitation. + Serves as Executive Director for the Metro Region Hospitals Foundation (which includes: Toledo Hospital, Ebeid Children’s Hospital, Bay Park, Flower Hospital Foundations) responsible for providing leadership support for philanthropy-related activity to the executive leadership and governance boards and committees at each assigned business unit, including coordination of governance meetings, related materials preparation, and assignment tracking. Assures that foundation records and files are maintained. Plans and manages the foundation budgets, including coordination of grant requests and award distributions. Maintains a good working relationship with business unit senior leadership. + Collaborates on a master calendar for philanthropy activities, including informational and fundraising communications, special event correspondence, local and regional cultivation events, etc. + Supports the philanthropy team by providing counsel to peers as required and assistance with special projects as requested. + Performs all other duties as assigned. **REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS** **Education** : Bachelor’s Degree, or advanced degree in relevant field of study. **Skills** : Must have, and maintain, high personal and professional integrity in keeping with accepted philanthropy industry standards. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. **Years of Experience** : 5-7 years, or more leadership experience in a sophisticated fundraising organization. **PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS** **Education** : Master’s Degree **Years of Experience** : 7+ years of fundraising in healthcare-related field.
