Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an ICU position at an acute care hospital in Minnesota, requiring ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and at least 2 years of ICU experience.
Details
- 5-bed ICU within an acute care hospital setting
- Patient ratio of 2 patients per RN
- Common diagnoses include stroke, STEMI, and non-STEMI presentations; TPN administration is performed
- Manages complex drips including Cardizem, insulin, Propofol, Versed, and vasopressors
- Ventilator management using Hamilton C-1
- Charting is done in Paragon Hospital EMR and Allscripts TouchWorks
- Day/Night rotating 12-hour shifts, primarily nights with some day shifts required; shift times are 07:00–19:30 and 19:00–07:30
- Every other weekend required (shift notes also reference every 3rd weekend — confirmed as every other)
- Floating to Med/Surg may be required
- Telemetry/monitor techs available on unit
- Hospitalist in-house coverage; RT on-call after 6:00 PM with 10-minute response time; pharmacy in-house until 10:00 PM, remote thereafter
- No charge nurse assigned to the unit; nurse aides available as needed
- No IV team on unit
Requirements
- Active MN RN license required
- Current certifications required: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), PALS, and TNCC
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
- BSN is not required
Additional Information
- Orientation consists of 1–2 shifts
- Royal blue scrubs required for RNs
- 7 major holidays are observed and will be incorporated into the work schedule
- 13-week contract
