The Ultrasound Technician performs a variety of specialized technical tasks utilizing high frequency ultrasound waves to assist with the detection of medical conditions or abnormalities by producing images of the inside of a patient’s body.

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • A certification from an accredited ultrasound school
  • One year of experience as an ultrasound technician preferred.
  • Current CPR if applicable
  • TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
  • Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
  • Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years of age  

 

Details of Assignment:

 

Provide health care services, applying sonic energy to assist in diagnosis or treatment. Perform ultrasonic imaging and related procedures in the following areas: OB/GYN, abdomen, Breast, vascular, and small parts. Demonstrates anatomy for interpretation and/or intervention by, or at the request of a licensed practitioner. Exercises professional judgment in performance of services and maintains a demeanor complementary to medical ethics. Apply appropriate patient care and recognize patient conditions essential for successful completion of the procedure. An Advanced User is an individual who works as part of the Diagnostic Imaging team and has in-depth knowledge of all clinical US applications, workflow, and associated principals for the modality. The advanced user serves as an in-house training resource for peers, vendors, and applications personnel. There may be more than one advanced user designated per modality depending on need.

Population Served: Pediatric to Geriatric

 

Shifts: 4x10 Nights, Block Schedule traditionally offered

 

Contract Length: 13 Week(s)

 

Pay Breakdown:

  • Local: $70/hr
  • Travel (must reside 50+ miles away): $1800 taxable, $1248 in stipends
