Job Description

We’re looking for a dependable, motivated Diesel Mechanic Assistant to help support our diesel and heavy equipment mechanics working on dump trucks and tractor/semi trailers. This is a hands‑on role in a construction and trucking environment and a great opportunity for someone who wants to build a long‑term career in diesel mechanics.

You’ll work directly with experienced mechanics, learn the trade, and get steady, year‑round work with the opportunity to move into a permanent position based on performance.

Schedule

• Monday–Friday: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM (hours may vary)
• Saturdays as needed
• Full‑time, year‑round work

What You’ll Be Doing

• Assist senior mechanics with truck and equipment repairs
• Perform routine maintenance, including:
  • Oil changes
  • Brake pad replacements
  • Tire changes
  • Tune‑ups
• Support general truck and equipment maintenance
• Use hand and power tools safely and properly
• Assist with more advanced repairs as skills improve
• Keep the shop clean, safe, and organized
• Jump in on other tasks as needed to keep operations running

What We’re Looking For

• Reliable transportation to and from work
• High school diploma or GED required
• Automotive or diesel repair schooling preferred, not required
• Experience using hand and power tools
• Familiarity with gasoline and diesel equipment
• Basic understanding of car, truck, or tractor engines
• Willingness to learn and take direction
• Some hands‑on repair experience preferred — training available for the right person
• Strong work ethic, dependable, and eager to grow
