Job Description

We are looking for a Grant Program Administrator to advance Indiana’s strategy to strengthen the rural healthcare workforce by expanding collaboration, communication, availability, and visibility of clinical preceptorship and training opportunities. This position will be part-time and hybrid in Indianapolis, IN.

What You’ll Do

  • Coordinate the full life cycle of grants from application to closeout

  • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations and policies, as well as grant agreements

  • Monitor grant performance, deliverables, and timelines

  • Maintain accurate records of grant documentation, contracts, and amendments

  • Review proposals for compliance with funding requirements

  • Track grant applications and maintain submission schedules

  • Coordinate required approvals and supporting documentation

  • Monitor expenditures to ensure proper allocation of funds

  • Prepare financial reports in accordance with government standards

  • Assist with applicable audits and respond to findings

  • Prepare and submit required programmatic and financial reports

  • Ensure timely submission of quarterly, annual, and final reports

  • Track performance indicators and outcome measurements

  • Serve as primary contact between IDOH and funded organizations

  • Communicate grant requirements to stakeholders

  • Provide guidance and technical assistance as requested

  • Conduct internal compliance reviews

  • Identify and address potential compliance risks

  • Ensure adherence to procurement and contracting policies

What You'll Need

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in public health, health administration, public policy, workforce development, education, business administration, or related field

  • Prior experience in workforce development, grant management, project management, program administration, or related work (3+ years)

  • Experience working with healthcare organizations, rural communities, training providers, or public health systems

  • Knowledge of compliance, budgeting, and reporting requirements for state or federal grants

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with strong attention to detail

  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and relationship-building skills

Preferred:

  • Experience with CMS-funded programs, federal grants administration, or large-scale workforce initiatives

  • Familiarity with Indiana’s rural health landscape, including hospitals, FQHCs, EMS, behavioral health providers, schools/community-based organizations

  • Experience collaborating with statewide associations, training institutions, or multi-stakeholder coalitions

  • Knowledge of rural health delivery, care coordination, or health system transformation

Physical Demands

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state, and local standards

  • Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor

  • Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings

$37 - $41 per hour

The pay range for this position is listed above. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including location, experience, and education. Benefit packages for this role will include 401k retirement account access. Employees in this role may also be entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
