Uses designated computer, dictation, and transcription equipment as directed. Documents patient care and ensures continuity in care planning activities. + Interprets and transcribes dictation by physicians and healthcare professionals. This includes patient assessment, diagnosis, and treatment. Completes tasks timely to meet production standards and follows established policies and procedures. + Adheres to English term usage to correctly document medical records. + Obtains additional information needed to ensure complete documentation of records. + Requests assistance to interpret dictation that is unclear or inconsistent, and/or makes use of professional materials in a timely manner. + Interacts with physicians and internal customers in a professional and courteous manner. **Key Success Factors** + Word processing experience required. + Able to type 60 wpm with 85% accuracy required. + Demonstrates understanding of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, disease processes, signs and symptoms, medications and laboratory values. + Excellent listening skills, and oral and written communication skills required. + Certified Medical Transcription Certificate preferred. **Belonging Statement** We believe that all people should feel welcomed, valued and supported. **Qualifications** + High school diploma, GED, or equivalent level of education. + At least one year of previous work experience in a relevant field.
