Lead Paint and Drywall Technician – Spearhead High-End Residential Finishing and Restoration

Job Overview

• Company: JNE Homes LLC.

• Salary/Pay Rate: $27 to $32 per hour plus Performance Bonus.

• Location: Travel Required (Kalamazoo, MI).

• Job/Employment Type: Full Time.

• Schedule: Monday - Friday.

• Project Scope: Residential Construction / Remodeling.

The Opportunity You will serve as the technical expert for all finishing operations, ensuring every residential project meets our uncompromising standards for quality. As a high-level specialist, you will have the opportunity to transition into a leadership role as we grow, overseeing future crews of painters and drywallers. This is a position for a craftsman who takes immense pride in their work and wants to be part of a team that provides the best tools and support in the industry.

How You Will Make an Impact

• Execute professional drywall hanging and finishing including complex texture matching and surface restoration.

• Develop accurate material lists for small to medium-scale drywall and painting projects to ensure site efficiency.

• Manage comprehensive interior and exterior painting operations using sprayers and specialized equipment.

• Implement advanced surface preparation techniques for aluminum siding, wood siding, decks, and doors.

• Install high-end tile backsplashes and waterproofed shower systems following industry-best practices.

• Support overall project momentum by assisting with carpentry, framing, and cabinet installation as needed.

• Maintain a safe work environment while operating at elevated positions and managing company equipment.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in drywall finishing and painting.

• Demonstrated mastery of drywall patching, finishing, and matching existing textures.

• Expert knowledge of paint products, primers, and application methods for diverse surfaces.

• Proficiency in tile installation including advanced knowledge of shower waterproofing systems.

• Ability to work independently and follow complex architectural or technical instructions.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

• High School Diploma or GED.

• Previous experience in a leadership or foreman capacity within the construction industry.

• Broad knowledge of residential carpentry, flooring, and framing.
