Description
American Traveler is seeking an Outpatient Physical Therapist with 1+ year of experience and Epic proficiency for a 13-week day shift assignment.
Details
- Primarily outpatient setting with occasional flexing to inpatient
- Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM
- Caseload of approximately 10 visits per day
- Patient population includes general orthopedic, neurologic, disability, and generalized weakness conditions
- Treats conditions such as cervicalgia, low back pain, post-op cervical, shoulder, and spinal surgery, spinal conditions, total hip and knee replacement
- Treats neurologic conditions including cognitive disorders, multiple sclerosis, muscular dystrophy, Parkinson's disease, post-stroke rehabilitation, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury
- Epic EMR experience required
- No call requirements
Requirements
- Current BLS certification required
- LA State License or Compact license required (license required if applicable)
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience required
- Prior travel experience required
- Epic charting system experience required
- Experience with home exercise programs and patient/family education
- Experience in acute care, outpatient clinic, rehabilitation hospital, and skilled nursing facility settings
Additional Information
- Main responsibilities include patient assessment, treatment planning, and implementation of home exercise programs
- Focus on patient and family education as part of care plan
- Orientation held five days a week
- Scrub color requirement: maroon, wine, or burgundy
- Candidates must live more than 65 miles from the facility to be eligible
- Local candidates are not accepted
- Rate of time off (RTO) must be disclosed and discussed during the interview process
- Candidates who previously worked as permanent staff or in-house agency contractors must have a full year separation before returning as a traveler
- First-time travelers will not be considered as prior travel experience is required
