$2500 Sign-On Bonus (per diem; requires meeting minimum hours per agreement)

Schedule: Three (3) shifts per calendar month | Regularly covering weekend shifts is expected | Two (2) holidays per year.
Department: Kresge Health & Rehab Center | Memory Care, Assisted Living, and Independent Living | Chelsea Retirement Community | Chelsea, MI

What You’ll Do in This Role:
Join a 5-Star retirement community on a beautiful 58-acre campus with a rich history of excellence in senior care and a truly supportive team culture. The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) assists in providing rehabilitative services to the elderly with mental, physical, emotional, or developmental impairments. 


Key Responsibilities
  • Works under the direction of occupational therapists to plan, implement, or administer programs that restore or enhance performance in individuals with functional impairments. 
  • Monitors patients' performance in therapy activities and provides encouragement. 
  • Assists in instructing patients and families in home programs, basic living skills, or the care and use of adaptive equipment. 
  • Observes and records patients' progress, attitudes, and behavior and maintains this information in client records. 
  • Reports to supervisors on patients' progress, attitudes, and behavior. 
  • Performs clerical duties.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • Graduate of an accredited Therapy program 
  • 1 -2 years of related experience
  • Current Occupational Therapy Assistant state license 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Position requires the ability to lift and move objects, weighting up to 35 pounds without assistance
