OCCUPATIONAL SUMMARY

Assist licensed Occupational Therapists in providing therapeutic treatments and procedures in accordance with the established plan of care. Ensure accurate and timely documentation of all therapy interventions provided. Reports to the Home Health Manager.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Deliver occupational therapy services under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist in compliance with professional standards and agency protocols
  • Support the Occupational Therapist’s effectiveness by identifying patient care issues and contributing to treatment planning
  • Carry out therapeutic procedures including manual exercises and training in activities of daily living, mobility, and functional rehabilitation
  • Document patient care services in accordance with approved medical and agency documentation guidelines
  • Instruct and counsel patients and caregivers regarding therapeutic routines, developmental milestones, and health maintenance practices
  • Ensure timely documentation of treatments and the patient’s response to therapy interventions
  • Attend required in-service training and staff meetings
  • Other duties as assigned.



Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Current state license to practice as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
  • Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
  • Minimum of two years of relevant experience preferred, or a combination of education and experience deemed equivalent
  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Visual acuity sufficient to perform clinical duties, including patient assessment and reading printed/electronic data
  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines
  • Physical capability to climb at least two flights of stairs and to stand/walk for a minimum of four hours
  • Ability to regularly lift, push, or pull 20–50 lbs
  • Proficient in proper body mechanics and able to reach, stoop, bend, and kneel when delivering patient care
  • Computer literacy with willingness to learn agency software
  • Valid state driver’s license
  • Motor Vehicle Record satisfactory to the agency and its insurance provider
  • Proof of current motor vehicle insurance
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed
  • Must complete 12 hours of continuing education, annually.
