About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Special Education / Diverse Learner Teacher to support students in grades 58 through a blend of push-in and pull-out services. You will manage an average caseload of approximately 20 students and provide targeted, skill-based instruction that helps students build confidence and make measurable growth.

Most common student needs include Specific Learning Disability (SLD) and Developmental Delay (DD), with a strong focus on foundational academic skills in literacy and math.

What Youll Do

  • Provide specialized instruction in small groups and targeted pull-out settings
  • Deliver push-in support within general education classrooms to increase access and success
  • Plan and implement interventions for reading fluency, reading comprehension, and foundational math
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and related service providers
  • Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals and accommodations
  • Track student progress using data and adjust instruction accordingly
  • Communicate regularly with families and school teams to support student outcomes
  • Maintain timely and compliant documentation

Required Qualifications

  • Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with appropriate Special Education endorsement (or ability to obtain)
  • Experience supporting students with learning needs (SLD/DD experience is a plus)
  • Strong classroom collaboration skills and comfort working in both push-in and pull-out models
  • Ability to plan targeted instruction and use data to drive interventions

Preferred Qualifications

  • Middle school experience (58)
  • Strong intervention background in literacy and math
  • Familiarity with progress monitoring tools and differentiated instruction
